Shell opens ‘HRS Amsterdam-Westpoort’ as part of H2Benelux

Today (5 October 2021) Shell opened its hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) in Amsterdam-Westpoort, at Galwin 6 with a local event. The station is part of the H2Benelux project, which will establish 8 public HRS along the core network of the trans-European transport corridors in the Benelux.

Shell is progressing with the development of the hydrogen refuelling station at its Shell station Westpoort in Amsterdam. It is the second station of Shell that will be realised as part of the Connecting Europe Facility H2Benelux project, after it successfully opened the hydrogen refuelling station at Shell station Den Ruygenhoek-Oost in October 2020. The construction works at Shell station Westpoort are ongoing and major parts of the hardware have already been installed. The testing and commissioning phase will soon be embarked upon.

Construction works are ongoing at Colruyt/DATS24's hydrogen refuelling station at Haasrode

Colruyt/DATS24 is progressing with the development of its first hydrogen refuelling station developed as part of the Connecting Europe Facility H2Benelux project. Construction works have started and key parts of the hardware are already installed at its forecourt in Haasrode. A testing and commissioning phase will soon be started.

Opening of the first hydrogen refuelling station of H2Benelux: Shell Den-Ruygenhoek Oost

On 13 October 2020, Shell has opened its first hydrogen refuelling in the Netherlands, station at its highway forecourt at Den Ruygenhoek-Oost. This hydrogen refuelling station has some unique features. It is the first hydrogen refuelling station in the Netherlands that is located directly at a highway (A4/E19 (exit 3-4), near Hoofddorp, direction towards Amsterdam Airport, Schiphol) and it is also the first hydrogen refuelling station in the Netherlands at which the hydrogen refuelling dispenser is located among the dispensers for traditional fuels.

Permit received for Shell’s second hydrogen refuelling station in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Shell has successfully been granted the permit for its hydrogen refuelling station in Amsterdam. This station is the 6th hydrogen refuelling station of H2Benelux to receive the permit. As part of H2Benelux, Shell is developing another hydrogen refuelling station in Amsterdam as well. The other 6 hydrogen refuelling stations are being developed in the region of Utrecht, Rotterdam, Ghent, Leuven, Liège and Luxembourg.
